School to Careers 2018

Students who participated in the School-to-Careers program at Swofford during the 2017-18 school year were honored at the School-to- Careers Banquet on April 24. In addition to honoring the students, the Banquet provides the opportunity for the school and students to express thanks to the local business/industry partners who enable success for students by extending education beyond the classroom.

Challenge Course

The Swofford Challenge Course was established in 1997 and has hosted countless Swofford students and 9th grade students from Spartanburg School Districts 1 & 2. The Challenge Course provides an opportunity for students to learn through hands-on activities and physical challenges problem solving, teamwork, communication, leadership, and ingenuity. Students work with their classmates to creatively complete challenges. Over the years, the Challenge Course has been updated and now is home to numerous activities of varying difficulties. It also meets the American Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Standards for construction and safety. Mr. Tyler Hill is our Challenge Course facilitator.

Letter from the Director:

Dear Swofford Parents and Community,

It is an honor and blessing to serve as the Director at Swofford Career Center, and to witness daily the maturation process our students undergo during this crucial time of life. Our school has a rich history of student achievement, as measured by Certification/Licensing tests, Skills tests, EOC data, Completer totals, Dual Enrollment results, placement rates, Workkeys results, and Technical Skill Attainment. This success can be directly attributed to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty and staff, supportive parents, and a caring community.
